Living on streets can be very tough especially for small dogs. They are prey to all kinds of horrible stuffs; like bad weather, humans’ abuse and other dogs. Like any other dog who has lived long enough on the streets and suffered a lot, this little maltese-poodle, later named Oakley feared and hated humans. Oakley, thus didn’t want to be rescued by anyone, until this very day.

Hope For Paws, a non-profit organization working to rescue and rehabilitate street animals dispatched a rescuer as soon as they heard about the condition of Oakley. This small dog didn’t trust any human so it was hard for the rescuer to help her. He had to creep up behind her and try to finagle the leash around her neck without her noticing.
