Families On The Beach Were Attacked By A Group Of Wild Ponies.

Ever since it was posted a week ago on Facebook, this clip below has collected around 3 million views. The video features a group of wild ponies storming across some unsuspecting people on the beach. Assateague Island is the remote barrier island located between Virginia and Maryland. It is home to a population of over 300 wild horses. Wild ponies have been known to roam the island for centuries.

The Virginia herd is managed by Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company. The herd grazes mainly on the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. But as this clip shows, sometimes they end up surprising unwary tourists. Humans are often warned against feeding and petting them because the horses could get sick from eating processed human food.
